Everything
starts with an idea. And it's the IDEA - the formation of a new, original,
and meaningful concept - that defines the heart and soul of Biederman/Owens
Entertainment.
Jerry Biederman and Chris Dane Owens began their company in the summer
of 2000, sparked by the simple idea to create a brand of Reality TV that
represented the shows they, themselves, would love to watch. When Biederman's
successful nonfiction books began being optioned by Hollywood, and the
William Morris Agency came
knocking, all the doors to major showrunners and outlets started opening.
Today, their company has numerous deals, offers, and TV series pilots
to their credits. Their primetime series, "Who Gets the Dog?"
(a series that generated the largest sponsorship draw in the network's
history) can be seen on Animal Planet. They have more than 200 original
concepts (filling their trademark "magic briefcase," which they
bring to pitch meetings all over town), and they create at least one new
series each week. Numerous showrunners and buyers turn to them regularly
to fulfill their specific programming needs.
What started out as Biederman/Owens Television, has expanded to Biederman/Owens
Entertainment, which includes original screenplays and best-selling book
acquisitions for scripted television and motion pictures. As show Creators
and Executive Producers, their philosophy and company personality remain
intact - "Love what you do and be unique in your creativity." |
